TERRORISM
IN INDIA
“Terrorism is a
horrible thing that is the great threat to civilization on our planet”.
Terrorism means the homicide
of the usual people for their own sake. Many scholars defined the terrorism in
their own word and Yonah Ahmad is one of them who defined terrorism as, “The
use of threat of violence against random or civilian targets in order to intimidate
or create generalized persistent fear for the purpose of achieving political
goals”.
Terrorism found in
India includes Ethno-nationalist terrorism, Religious terrorism, Left Wing
terrorism and Narco-terrorism. Ethno-nationalist terrorism focuses on creating
a separate state within India. Religious terrorism focuses on the religious
imperatives and the dreadful attack of Mumbai 26 Nov 2008 from an Islamic group
in Pakistan comes under religion terrorism. Left Wing terrorism focuses on
economic ideology. Maoist cruelty in Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh is the example
of it. Narco terrorism focuses on creating unlawful narcotic traffic zones. Brutality
in North West India
Jammu
and Kashmir, East-Central and South Central India and Seven Sister States i.e.,
Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland and Tripura are
the regions with long term terrorist activities.
Nation Security Advisor
on August 2008 said that there are more than 800 terrorist cells or sleeping
agents operating in the country.
According to the State
Department of the Security 11098 people were died in the terrorist attack
worldwide and 231 civilians were died in India in 2012. If we noticed the
terror attack survey of India from 1975 to 2016, there are 9982 incidents in
which 18842 people were died and 28814 injuries. There are many incidents which
are heart shacking attacks like Mumbai 26/11, Amarnath Yatra Attack, Sunjuwan
Attack, Sukma Attack and Pulwama Attack.
Amarnath Yatra attack is that attack which was executed by Abu Ismail, Yawar Bashir, Furqan and Maawiya on 10 July 2017 in which 8 Hindu civilians were dead and 18 were injured in the mass shooting.
Amarnath Yatra attack is that attack which was executed by Abu Ismail, Yawar Bashir, Furqan and Maawiya on 10 July 2017 in which 8 Hindu civilians were dead and 18 were injured in the mass shooting.
Sunjuwan attack is a
terrible attack like the Uri attack 2016. It was planned and executed by the commander
of Jaish-e-Mohammad in which 11 soldiers were dead in the Army Camp of
Sunjuwan. The master mind of this attack Mufti Waqas
was killed in an army operation on 5 March 2018 in South Kashmir.
Sukma Attack was
executed on 13 March 2018 in which 9 CRPF personnel were killed and 6 other
people were injured when Maoists blew up a mine-protected vehicle with an IED
in Sukma district, Chhattisgarh.
Pulwama Attack is a
heart shaking incident took place in Pulwama on 14th February 2019
when a convoy of vehicles carrying security personnel was attacked by a vehicle
borne suicide bomber. It resulted in the death of 40 CRPF (Central Rural Police
Force personnel) soldiers. It was claimed that the attackers were from the
Islamist militant group Jaish-e-Mohammad. This incident had changed many
relationships between India and Pakistan even the Supreme had made a special bench
to discuss whether India will play World Cup with Pakistan or not?
Prime Minister Narendra
Modi fated the attack and expressed solidarity with the victims and their
family and Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh assured that a strong response
will be given to the terror attack whereas the Indian Finance Minister Arun
Jaitley has said that India would completely isolate Pakistan in the diplomatic
country.
Terrorism is not just
harming the country but it also hurting the emotions of the people. Some people
connected terrorism with Islamism whereas a terrorist don’t have any religion
because, “The purpose of religion is to control you, not to criticize others.”
